San Francisco Bay Area Dog Rescue, Adopt a Dog, Foster a Dog

Our twice-monthly adoption event with shelter dogs and many area rescue groups is a great place to search for a new best friend.

Held the first and third Sunday afternoon of the month at the shelter, from noon to 2 pm.

You don't need to wait for Mingle With Our Mutts to visit us, we're open seven days a week!

Next Mingle is Sunday, June 18.

-After the home visit you will either be approved or not to adopt a rescue dog from NDR.

Last Day Dog Rescue is a proud partner of Pets for Patriots, a nationally operating 501(c)(3) charity creating opportunities for veterans and service members to save hard-to-adopt shelter pets.

Rocket Dog Rescue’s mobile adoptions are your chance...

Also, note that Rocket Dog does not adopt dogs to residences outside of the state of California. Persons interested in adopting from National Mill Dog Rescue must read the Requirements for Adopting and, when applicable, the Out Of State Adoption requirements and then must complete the Adoption Application. Within 24 hours of receipt of your application, an Adoptions Team member will respond to you via EMAIL with instructions on next steps in the application process. Please note that submitting an application is only the first step in our adoption process and does not qualify you as an approved adopter. There are several more steps to the process, including email communications, telephone conversations and more. We do our best to work with you as quickly and as smoothly as possible to determine whether or not a puppy mill survivor is a good match for your home.

Please read this information carefully before submitting an application. We do adopt dogs to out-of-state residents and each application is handled individually. National Mill Dog Rescue will not ship dogs and most often, we cannot arrange transport. We do not require that you travel to Colorado as part of the approval process but you must be able to travel here to meet our dogs if you are approved to adopt. Please do not complete an application unless you are able to travel to our facility. If you are able to travel here, we ask you to take the following steps:

Luvable Dog Rescue is not a public shelter and therefore not open to the public. We are a private rescue and all visitors must be scheduled by appointment only. Once you have been approved as an adopter or volunteer you will be given the physical address. To ensure safe and loving placement for every one of our rescues, we screen all of our applicants. Once the application has been reviewed, a Great Dog Volunteer will reach you for a phone interview, and check both vet and personal references. Then we’re ready to schedule a home visit for you and your new best friend, handle the adoption fee and sign a contract.
